How to find Love

Individuals have spent a lot of money in the search for love; others have found right on their doorstep. Why is it that some people spend their whole lives searching for something that others find love easily?

I think that it all comes down to what your expectations are, some people set impossibly high standards for the one they are looking for, and therefore they will never find them. Others are more realistic and are prepared to accept people for who they are.

You have to be able to see yourself as others see you, once you are able to do this then you will have a more realistic idea of the person who will be compatible to you. If you are short, fat, ugly and poor there is no way that you will win over someone like Elle Macpherson.

I'm not saying that ugly men, or poor men, or short men can't win the affections of a beautiful woman, but usually partners in life will have similarities, and then they have to be understanding of the differences if they want the relationship to survive.

When looking for love the old adage "opposites attract" does not hold water, you may be attracted to someone totally opposite of yourself but you can be sure that the attraction will eventually wear thin.

Friendship is an important ingredient when looking for love, you can love someone, but that love won't last if you don't like them. Your partner in life or your wife has to be someone who you can spend time with, someone whose company you enjoy.

The first step you have to take when you are looking for love is to look into yourself, search yourself, are you looking for love or are you looking for the impossible dream, a perfect, flawless person.

If you follow the advice above you will be able to find that love that you have been looking for, you may even realize that the person you have been looking for lives right next door to you, or is the person at your supermarket who has always had a big smile for you when you approach the register.

In order to find love you need to be patient, understanding, able to compromise, caring, and above all else non-judgemental. With these qualities you are sure to find the person who will truly compliment you, or as Tom Cruise said complete you.
